Product Description
Triceratops (meaning "three-horned face") is a genus of herbivorous ceratopsid dinosaur which lived during the Late Cretaceous Period, around 68 to 65 million years ago in what is now North America.
Triceratops are estimated to have reached up to 9 m (29.5 ft) in length, and 12.0 tonnes (13,000–26,000 lb) in weight. It shared the landscape with the fearsome Tyrannosaurus.
Triceratops ate large volumes of fibrous plant material with some suggesting palms and cycads, and others suggesting ferns, which then grew in prairies
Triceratops was one of the last ceratopsian genera to appear before the Cretaceous-Tertiary extinction event. The related Nedoceratops and Torosaurus, and the more distantly related diminutive Leptoceratops, were also present.
