Capable of short takeoffs and landings from unprepared runways, the C-130 was originally designed as a troop, medical evacuation and cargo transport aircraft.
The versatile airframe has found uses in a variety of other roles, including as a gunship, and for airborne assault, search and rescue, scientific research support, weather reconnaissance, aerial refuelling and aerial firefighting.
The Hercules family has the longest continuous production run of any military aircraft in history. During more than 50 years of service the family has participated in military, civilian and humanitarian aid operations.
The product contains two versions of the model. When the model loads, just select and delete the one you do not want to use. The grounded version has lowered undercarraige, and open doors and ramp. The flying version has retracted undercarraige and closed ramp and doors.
All four propellers can rotate, tail fin rudder can rotate left and right, flaps on left and rear ailerons, three flaps on each wing can move up and down. Rear landing ramps can open and close. There is a basic cockpit (with five seats), though no control panels or flight sticks are included.
The model contains groups for animation, and materials for retexturing.
